Khao Lak is home to wonderful tropical scenery, gorgeous white-sand beaches and is also close to the excellent dive sites of the Simlan and Surin Islands. A morning’s drive from Khao Lak is Khao Sok National Park which supports a staggeringly wide range of flora and fauna, reptile and bird life. The scenery here at the reserve is quintessential southern Thailand – undulating karst hills are draped in thick evergreen forest and there is a wide range of flora including orchid and the rare Rafflesia Kerri Meijer. Khao Sok also supports elephant, tiger and cloud leopard, gibbon and deer. The nearest airport to Khao Lak is Phuket which has daily flights to Bangkok.
