When is the best time to visit Jordan?
The weather in Jordan is predominately hot, dry and almost always sunny between April and November with the highest temperatures experienced during the months of June, July and August. Spring and Autumn are temperate with warm days and cool evenings. The winter months herald the arrival irregular showers and, at night, it has been known for temperatures to fall below freezing.
Do I need a visa to travel to Jordan from the UK?
British citizens will need to obtain a visa to enter Jordan, however, a single-entry visa that is valid for one month can be purchased on arrival.

The flight duration to Jordan from the UK depends on the route taken and whether the flight is direct or stops en-route. Direct flights between London and Amman take around 7 hours.
What language is spoken in Jordan?
The official language of Jordan is Arabic, however, English is widely spoken throughout the country, especially by those that work in the tourism industry.

A relatively small country, it is possible to see the highlights of Jordan in a little over a week. However, despite its size, Jordan offers plenty and has much to see and do. If not constrained by time, 14 days is an ideal length to fully experience all Jordan has to offer.
What are the finest ancient sites in Jordan?
Jordan is home to a collection of outstanding ancient sites, the best-known of these being the extraordinary Nabataean city of Petra. Jordan is also fortunate to be the location of a number of Roman remains which include Jerash, crusader fortresses at Aljoun and Kerak, and multiple Christian sites of international significance including the Jordan Valley, Mt Nebo and Madaba.
Where are the best places in Jordan to experience natural scenery?
Jordan is also blessed with a number of incredible natural wonders including the Dead Sea – which is the earth’s lowest point – the epic desert landscapes of Wadi Rum, the pristine wadis of the Dana Nature Reserve and a series of coral reefs close to the Red Sea town of Aqaba which offer fine opportunities for snorkelling.
